Animation Project Week 1

I'm also doing some real animation stuff for this class. Here are a couple of random scenes from my animation project so far.

The quality of the video decreases when I post it here, so it's a little hard to make out what's going on.

Today in class we learned some tips on using Adobe After Effects, and a couple of tips with Premiere.

I created this brilliant animation with the new skills I acquired.

Animal Wildlife Final

For our final exam in Animal Wildlife last week, we had to apply what we learned in our anatomy studies to an outline of a horse and mountain lion. After a couple hours of studying (the day of) I was able to memorize everything I needed to know.

The bones were by far the easiest.

Some parts of the muscles in this photo are a little off.

It's pretty easy to get lost in this mess.

I got this down.

The anatomy exam was only half of our final. Critique on our motion studies and drawings was the next half, which took place today.

I really like my bear gesture in this one.

My score on the critique was higher than I expected it to be, so I'm going to reward my hard work with some fig newtons. Aww yeah.

I really need to give myself more time to work on these homework assignments. Regardless, I like the way this one turned out.

Morning Sun

For our latest Life Drawing homework assignment, we had to pick an artist from a list and draw the figure in one of the artist's paintings.

I chose Morning Sun by Edward Hopper
Done in pastels.

It was a lot more difficult than I had imagined to recreate the figure. We weren't required to do the background, so I made an outline around my drawing with colors similar to those in the original.

Bear Gryllz

A while back in my Animal Drawing class, my teacher was doing a demo on bears. My friends and I usually draw funny pictures with what we just learned, and I created this:

Ever since then, Bear Gryllz has been a recurring character in my drawings. More to come!

Classroom Doodles

My friends and I have way too much fun in our Animal Wildlife class, learning about animal structure and applying it to random doodles. It's a good way to pass the time during a class so late in the day.

Here we have a... Horse frog. Yes.

Our teacher told us to control our pencil while drawing. Meaning our line quality should look smooth and lively, rather than scratchy and lifeless.

This poor guy doesn't have the proper pencil control.

And thus, suffered this fate.

This one doesn't really have anything to do with any topics discussed in class, I was just doodling.

His superpower is the power to look ridiculously attractive.
He also wields knives.

Here are a few of my life drawing sketches that I'm proud of. 

I like to draw a scene or prop with the appropriate pose sometimes, it makes things a bit more fun. This guy's pose wasn't the most interesting, at least not from my angle, so I decided to spice it up a bit. With sharks.

It's been a while since I last posted anything. Here's some of the stuff I've been doing for the past couple of months at school.
